...when you think that no one's looking.
Er... Back. Yep. Back.
So... the trip was actually quite enjoyable. Much less horrible than I imagined. I got to see almost all of my cousins (on the one side), and they were actually rather tolerable. I attribute this to a change in me, not a change in them. I don't think they've changed... at least not very much. I'm the one who's become relentlessly outgoing, uncaring and candid.
The bride and groom were 40 min late to their own reception. But she looked rather beautiful when they did finally get there. I'd met her once before, but hadn't gotten a chance to talk to her, and come to think of it, I still haven't gotten a chance to talk to her. I shook her hand when I went down the procession. Said, "I'm Jana." and that was it. I can't remember if I hugged Ben or not... (Ben being the groom) but I hugged like everyone... a lot... I must be losing my mind.
I wore pants to the reception. A fact I was very proud of. I also wore my leather clompy shoes. Grandma was horrified. (Women are supposed to wear dresses you know)
Ah well... it was fun. Actually.... the reception itself wasn't very much fun... we kinda sat around for hours and did nothing... because we weren't supposed to dance... and the music that was playing was SLOW. Not dance tempo at all. So... we didn't dance. Well... okay, I'll admit it, we did dance. A lot... to the rhythm of our hearts... or rather... to some spastic bizare rhythm that definately DIDN'T belong with the music.
>,<
My cousins are embarassing... and somehow... I couldn't care less. Probably because there was no one their to be embarassed in front of as they were pretty much ALL my cousins. There were only two non-blood-related boys there. One had acne and the other couldn't dance. Actually... neither could dance. Le sigh.
At some point the Bride and Groom (Whitney and Ben [might as well use their names]) left... and no one noticed.
Lol.
But supposedly Ben's come out of his emotional rut... or should I say apathetic rut. I've seriously never seen this kid smile. Like... really smile.
But the engagement story was rather cute and he looked like he was about to wet himself with joy.
XD
Anywho... My cousin Joseph is balding... at the age of 23 (maybe). He's still awesome... just with less hair.
I didn't shower for three days while I was there. You get to a point where... you're sitting in your cousins' house saying "I need to take a shower before the reception," and your cousin says "well... see the tub doesn't really drain... so you'll have to wait a while or you'll be standing in the left over water..." and suddenly you don't really care for a shower any more... Besides... there really wasn't anyone to impress... so who cares?
Well, I'm back now, so... INVITE ME OVER YOU HOSERS. >D
We should do something. Has everyone bought their tickets!!!! DO IT NOW! DO IT!
ahem...
